
Well it’s a beautiful morning here in Genova. The sky is blue and the sun warm. I thought this post could be about the palaces of the nobility in the Genoese republic. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there seems to be a lot of renovation. In the sunshine the architecture really stands out. Renaissance and Baroque buildings everywhere though they’re hard to photograph as the Main Street is very narrow and the buildings are cheek by jowl, crowding each other out for the best space and vying for external decorative flair. I love it here … edgy and not too self conscious. Tromp l’oeil effects decorate the walls.
