Giovedi … only one more day!

Me with Victoria and Natalia in class this morning … I’m pulling a terrible grimace.
A lesson in the past tense!

I can’t believe this two week course is nearly over. It’s flown by! Todays morning session was really excellent. Maurizio is always so clear and organised… kind but in control of the class. The three of us had fun creating a story together in the form of a comin strip. We really laughed a lot. After class Natalia and I had a wander and then lunch together. We both bought some easy Italian books to keep us in the spirit of things when we return. After a good lunch ( where a guy complimented me on my style … score!) I went exploring on the other side of the Arno. Much quieter and very pleasant. There were three churches I wanted to see; Santa Maria del Carmine, Santo Spirito and the Cappella Rucellai. All three were shut! The Brancacci chapel in Santa Maria del Carmine is being restored which was a shame because it has a wonderful cycle of frescos by Masaccio and Masolino. Never mind I’m sure there will be another time! Later this afternoon a group from the language school are going out together for an aperitivo … it’ll be fun. I’ve booked my train to Paris for Saturday and a hotel until Tuesday. It’s nearly over … for now!

Some pictures from this afternoon

Santa Maria del Carmine
I nearly got shut in here … it was private and the electric gates began to close!
