Escape to myself

Last night “the girls” took me out for an evening at Helsinki’s evening festival. I had first met them on my language course in Florence. They were so welcoming to a random stranger and during the past couple of days had kept me posted with interesting things to see in Helsinki. I didn’t feel such a stranger knowing they were around… it was like having four personal tour guides. I had a wonderful time with them. A nice supper, champagne, some jazz, a drag night at a club and some wandering through the city which was buzzing with a myriad of events . It was so kind of them and a couple of Finnish gins helped the evening along. It’s interesting how we make connections with people in our journey through life. I’m glad that these four are in my life.
