Arriving in Stockholm

Sunrise on the ferry

Well I had a fairly good night and got a few hours sleep in. Cabin was fairly comfortable and I had a good supper and breakfast this morning. A little sad to be leaving Helsinki but looking forward to my next stay … the route the ferry takes is lovely and takes you past pretty islands with holiday homes at the water’s edge with boathouses. Obviously the Swedes, like the Finns, enjoy sailing.

Coming through the islands to Stockholm

I’ve left my luggage at the hostel. It’s very large but looks lively. It’s fairly near the station for my train to Oslo and walkable to the Royal Palace and the old town. Stockholm is spacious and has some great buildings. I’ve done my first walkabout as I can’t book in until 3pm so I’ll use the time to explore. Here are a few photographs to whet your appetite. I like that it’s a city of islands and bridges.
