Last night we went to eat at a lovely restaurant overlooking the river and enjoyed wine, good food and good company followed by a gelato on the way back to the hostel. Ina also came last night but she returned to the UK this morning.
Today the three of us took a walk around the old town. Despite the depredations of the war it is being lovingly restored. The famous bridge, wantonly destroyed in 1993 by the Croatians is back to its former glory. firstly we visited the Museum of Genocide. One can’t say it was enjoyable but it was absorbing, disturbing informative and harrowing. It was well curated and the story it told should be a lesson in inhumanity and courage.

The old town on the banks of the river was uncrowded and pleasant to wander through.
