Orvieto, Lucca e Firenze … a catch up

Orvieto

Last Sunday I visited the charming hilltop town of Orvieto. It was pleasant to wander around the flea market and the shops. The Cathedral is really lovely and the town is quaint with many little backstreets.

Lunch with my classmates

This week I enjoyed my classes and went out with my new friends most days. I also visited an excellent exhibition of the work if Toulouse Lautrec

We also had a class visit to San Ambrogio market.

This weekend I visited Lucca again wandering through the shops and the walls.

Today (Sunday) I explored the Oltrano area of Florence which is really the best area for little shops and interesting streets. I walked up the hill to San Miniato for the wonderful views and wandered through the Sunday craft market at Santo Spirito … one of my favourite with some excellent crafts on display, particularly jewellery.

Donata and Adriano recommended a visit to the Zeffirelli Foundation where there was a really wonderful exhibition of his art in Opera, Theatre and film.

A mise en scene
