My stay in Genoa has been really good. Museums, churches, food, sea and sun. The hostel was good though I’m a little fed up with always getting the top bunk😀. Cedric’s recommendations have been great. It’s a great city.

I’ve been trying to use a little Italian wherever I can … and I’ve spoken to people through their dogs! I can even ask a dogs name in Italian.! Last night I went out for dinner with a room mate, Chris. He’s a med student from New England. Charming and friendly. Despite the age difference we had good conversation about our different lives and backgrounds. He was travelling solo too. It was nice to have food with someone. The restaurant (Il Pandemonio) was traditional Ligurian cuisine … calamari and potatoes and mushroomsdelicious. I recommend Osteria Pandemonio

It’s been great people watching in cafes and listening in on conversations. All Italians seem to be on their “cellulare” mobile as they walk … and the ragazzi always seem friendly and relaxed. I think this trip may do me good.

Our restaurant… excellent food
