A lovely chilled day in the sunshine with a coffee and walk around the city with Sophy who lives in Devon. We had a relaxing wander and found we had a lot in common. Lunch of polenta, sausage and cheese rosti at a boho restaurant with a relaxed vibe … outside in the sunshine. Then a trip to an exhibition of Italian impressionist art of the 2860s. Rather beautiful paintings of a fragmented landscape. I was really taken by some of the artists. We than exhausted ourselves by taking in the museum of modern art. Not so enamoured of the art but it was a beautiful space in which to wander. Trieste is really trying to put itself on the tourists map. So many museums on the in the area. It’s really commendable. However they may regret it as the view from my window is now blocked by this enormous cruise ship. I can think of nothing worse.

Some paintings from the exhibition.
