Escape to myself

Well this is a charming city, full of character on a beautiful spring day. It’s a little disconcerting to be in a border town which looks so German and yet feels French. The rivers are beautiful to stroll by and the small squares are pleasant to sit and dream in. The magnolias are in full bloom.

The city is full of students on trips being guided through the city so it feels busy. The hostel is situated in the student quarter in an old tobacco factory and the area is awash with small cafes … and quirky eateries. It feels lively.

Today I have a full day so I’ll see what the city has to offer. Lots of architecture to see and several museums that look interesting. It’s sunny this morning so it will be pleasant to wander.
